Michele White Biography

Michele White is an American multi-media journalist and anchor/reporter working for FOX23 in Tulsa, Oklahoma as a news reporter. Before joining FOX23, she worked for KWWL in Cedar Rapids as a weekday and weekend multi-media journalist. Prior to joining KWWL, she worked for FOX and ABC Alaska. 

Boston is her native home and she attended the Missouri School of Journalism with scholarships from the School and the Scripps Howard Foundation. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the Missouri School of Journalism. In addition, while she was in college, she interned with the I-Team at CBS Boston where she assisted in researching a  sweeps investigation of medical malpractice cases in Boston.

Furthermore, she interned at Sky News in London as a morning producer while she studied abroad for a semester. While White worked for FOX and ABC Alaska, she covered; the fastest-growing area of the state and the Matanuska-Susitna valley. She also reported for KTUU while serving as the valley bureau chief and for KOMU in Columbia, Missouri, and covering the Missouri legislature. In addition, she has served as a writer for Last Frontier magazine, Alaska Dispatch, Alaska Business Monthly, and Alaska Star.

In 2016, she was awarded an Alaska Press Club award for her Climbing Denali in January story. Furthermore, Michele is eloquent in French speaking and she studied French while she was in Cannes and Paris. She also freelanced as a writer for World magazines and Charisma about a controversial bill in France that infringed religious freedom and it was passed in the French Parliament. Her reporting and worldview were shaped by her experience residing in Paris and London.

Her passion for adventure drove her to Alaska where her father served in the U.S. Coast Guard. Her last adventure was on the Alaska Highway in winter where she found a new home in Lowa. She was a contestant in the 2020 Miss Alaska for America pageant that took place in August. For her accomplishments, she was honored with the 2020 Miss Alaska for America Woman of Achievement Award.

In addition, Michele won the Miss Iowa for America title in 2021 and represented Iowa in the 2022 competition for the national title of 2022 Miss for America in Las Vegas in November. During her free time, she enjoys skiing, Ice-climbing on glaciers in the wilderness, hiking in the mountains, white-water rafting, camping in National Parks, shooting photographs and videos, playing piano, reading, traveling, and a good practical joke.
