Mohammad Ahmad is an American Reporter/Anchor working with 13 Newsroom WBKO where she serves the station as a Sports Reporter/Anchor. He has been working with the station since September 2021.
Mohammad Ahmad Education
Mohammad began his career at the University of Kentucky, where he graduated in 2019 with a broadcast journalism degree, before falling in love with the outdoors in Montana. As a student, he wore many hats, most notably as an assistant sports editor for the award-winning Kentucky Kernel student newspaper. His piece on Lynn Bowden’s 2019 Belk Bowl performance earned him first place in the category of “Best Sports Story.”

Ahmad works with 13Newsrom WBKO where he serves the station as a Sports Anchor/Reporter. This was after spending 14 months in the same role with SWX in Missoula, Montana. The Lexington, Kentucky native is happy to return to his home state. During his time working in Big Sky Country, he got to cover all things Western Montana sports which include the Montana Grizzlies. Asides from Anchoring and reporting, he also performed play-by-play of Montana Grizzlies and Montana State Bobcats basketball and softball broadcasts for SWX.
He is a proud graduate of the University of Kentucky where he obtained a broadcast journalism degree in 2019. This was before falling in love with the outdoors in Montana. Asides from that, he wore multiple hats as a student, most notably as an assistant sports editor for the award-winning Kentucky Kernel student newspaper.
His feature on Lynn Bowden’s 2019 Belk Bowl performance earned him his 1st place honors for “Best Sports Story” from the Kentucky Press Association College Awards. Aside from writing for the Kernel, he also interned with LEX 18 News and served as a high school sideline reporter for ESPN Sports Radio 1300 in Lexington. Away from work, he enjoys perfecting his newest dish in the kitchen, tubing, paddleboarding, kayaking, and hiking.
