Morgan Palmer Biography
Morgan Palmer is an American Meteorologist working for KIRO 7 News as a Chief Meteorologist, a role he undertook in October 2015. He joined the station working as a meteorologist in April 2011 before becoming the weekday morning meteorologist in November 2014.

Palmer is a proud graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where he obtained a BJ in Broadcast Journalism. From there, he completed advanced meteorology studies at Mississippi State University before embarking on his broadcasting career.

Palmer works for KIRO 7 News as a Chief Meteorologist, a role he undertook in October 2015. In this role, his Pinpoint forecasts air on weeknights at 4, 5, 6, 7, and 11 p.m. Upon joining the station, he initially worked as a meteorologist. In November 2014, he became the weekday morning meteorologist. He states that his family has called Western Washington home for many years and is therefore happy to be able to forecast weather for the beautiful region for more than a decade now.
Palmer holds the prestigious Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society(AMS) and the National Weather Association(NWA). He also serves on the Broadcast Meteorology Committee as chair for the NWA. His fascination with the weather began at a very early age. Also, being a television meteorologist was the very first thing he ever wanted to be. He started chasing storms in Tornado Alley as soon as he got his teenage driver’s license.
Prior to KIRO 7 News, Palmer had stints working as a Meteorologist, WBBH/WZVN for Waterman Broadcasting of Florida LLC in Fort Myers, Florida. There, he served between January 2008 and April 2011. Previously, he was also working as a Consulting Meteorologist for U.S. Weather Consultants, Inc. in Estero, Florida. There, he served between May 2009 and March 2011. He has also worked with KLTV 7 in Tyler, Texas where he was serving the station as a Meteorologist/Anchor, Reporter. There, he worked between August 1999 and January 2008.
During his career, Palmer has broadcast multiple hurricanes. His most memorable story was spending a week in South Mississippi to broadcast the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Despite forecasting big weather events, he is most proud when he gets a letter or email from a viewer telling him that his forecasts helped them plan their day, their vacation, or kept them safe during a big storm.
