Morgan Palmer Biography
Morgan Palmer is an American Meteorologist/Anchor/Reporter working for KIRO 7 News where he serves the station as a Chief Meteorologist a role he undertook in October 2015. He joined the station working as a Meteorologist in April 2011 before being made the Weekday Morning Meteorologist in November 2014.
Morgan Palmer Career
Palmer works with KIRO 7 News in Seattle, Washington where he serves the station as a Chief Meteorologist and weeknight edition weather news anchor. Prior to KIRO 7 News, he had stints working as a Meteorologist, WBBH/WZVN for Waterman Broadcasting Of Florida LLC in Fort Myers, Florida. There, he served between January 2008 and April 2011.
Previously, he was also working as a Consulting Meteorologist for U.S. Weather Consultants, Inc. in Estero, Florida. There, he served between May 2009 and March 2011. He has also worked with KLTV 7 in Tyler, Texas where he was serving the station as a Meteorologist/Anchor, Reporter. There, he worked between August 1999 and January 2008.
Palmer’s desire to be a meteorologist hit him at an early age and he started chasing storms in Tornado Alley as soon as he got his teenage driver’s license. He is a proud graduate of the University of Texas at Austin where he obtained a BJ, in Broadcast Journalism. From there, he completed advanced meteorology studies at Mississippi State University before embarking on his broadcasting career.
Palmer holds the prestigious Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society(AMS) and the National Weather Association(NWA). He also serves on the Broadcast Meteorology Committee as a chair for the NWA. Away from work, he enjoys photography, researching his family history, traveling, and golfing. He states that his family has called Western Washington home for many years and is therefore happy to be able to forecast weather for the beautiful region for more than a decade now.
