Nicea DeGering Biography
Nicea DeGering is an American Emmy Award-Winning anchor, reporter, and host working at ABC4 where she serves as the co-host of Good Things Utah and anchor of Midday and CW30 newscast. She joined the ABC4 team in 1995.
She is a proud graduate of Brigham Young University where she was pursuing Communications Broadcast and Journalism. At 23 years, DeGering became the Crime Reporter at ABC4. Several years down the line she reported the police response to the Salt Lake City tornado, Elizabeth Smart’s disappearance, and security at the 2002 Winter Olympics. SHE broadcasted special coverage of the gang movement from Las Vegas to Utah.
She took the watcher into the FBI headquarters in Quantico, Virginia. In addition, she anchored the ABC4 Weekend news and early mornings on AM Express. In 2002, Good Things Utah was launched and she joined from the desk of entertainment. Being one of the original hosts, she had the advantage of interviewing the latest Bachelorette, Garth Brooks, and Mitt Romney as well as all the inspiring everyday Utahans in between.
Furthermore, she has presented Good Things Utah guests from locations in Disneyland, Hawaii, and on the set of Dancing With The Stars. During her free time, she likes skiing running, spending time with her two teenage daughters, as well as hiking. She also enjoys reading, and many more things her Goldendoodle Miles wants her to do. She couldn’t be happier to work and live in her home state of Utah.
