Nick Carboni is an American journalist who serves as a sports director at WCNC. He joined the WCNC-TV sports team in 2016.

He earned a master’s degree from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School and also attended Springfield College in Massachusetts. He’s a big Boston Red Sox fan, and he’s perhaps the only Syracuse alumnus who doesn’t like the Orange. He formerly served as the sports director at WBIR-TV in Knoxville, Tennessee, for three years.
He previously worked as a sports anchor and reporter for three years at KOLR-TV in Springfield, Missouri. In addition, he began his professional career as a sports reporter at The Hartford Courant in his home state of Connecticut. He has also garnered a number of honors for his sports storytelling, including two Edward R. Murrow Awards, for his remarkable work. He’s covered SEC football, Sweet 16s, and World Series games, among other things.
