Having joined the network in October 2018, he anchors and produces the network’s weekend evening weather forecasts for NBC12, plus the 11 am, Noon, 4 pm, and 5:30 pm news 3 weekdays per week. He utilizes WSI MAX graphics and MAX Storm doppler radar and also looks forward to a lifestyle-driven and market-focused approach to weather casting.
Russo also leads continuous coverage for the network in breaking weather situations. He also writes detailed weather blogs about the next big weather event and also visits schools to speak about weather and is involved with community service projects. For the network, he is highly flexible with scheduling and filling in for other weather shifts. Having grown up in Boston, Massachusetts, he is a proud graduate of Lyndon State College (now known as Northern Vermont University at Lyndon) in Lyndonville, Vermont.
There he graduated cum laude with a minor in Atmospheric Science and a Bachelor’s Degree in Television Studies with a concentration in Broadcast News. His forecast interest grew fonder since he was in 5th grade. This was after he was fascinated by hurricanes, snowstorms, and thunderstorms. During his leisure time, he loves exercising, watching football, spending time outdoors, and enjoying good food.
