Paul Adler Biography
Paul Adler is an American journalist working for KSPR as an anchor of KY3 News at 5, The News on the Ozarks CW at 9, and KY3 News at 10 p.m. on weekdays. He joined the station on September 4, 2007, and has served the station for over a decade.
Paul Adler Education
Adler joined the University of Missouri-Columbia when he finished his high school education. He later graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and History. There, he worked as an anchor and reporter for the school’s National Public Radio affiliate, KBIA, and the school’s NBC affiliate in Columbia, KOMU.

Since joining the station, he has won awards including the Edward R. Murrow Regional Awards for Excellence in Innovation in 2021, News Series in 2017, and Breaking News in 2012.
Adler has also won multiple awards from the Missouri Broadcasters Association Awards including Best News Anchor, the Kansas City Press Club, and the Heart of America Awards. Further, he has won several Regional Emmys for his journalism work
Adler began his career at a small radio station that had a signal that went approximately five miles. Since then, he has worked for stations with much stronger signals all over the Midwest. His first paying job was at the CBS affiliate in Jefferson City, KRCG. Ultimately, he worked for WKRC in Cincinnati.
In Cincinnati, Adler was the anchor for the weekend newscasts and a reporter during the other newscasts. He also won journalism awards including being named Oshio’s “Best Reporter” thrice in competitions sponsored by The Associated Press. Additionally, he won awards for breaking news and features reporters like regional Emmy awards.
Adler led a campaign to develop “A Secret Safe Place For Newborns” in the Cincinnati area. Following this, he broadcasted a story about a newborn thrown in a trash can and pondered why a program in Alabama couldn’t be developed in the Cincinnati region to rescue newborns. Since the program began, multiple lives have been rescued in the Cincinnati region. He is affiliated with the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Mid-America Chapter and Investigative Reporters & Editors.
