Pete Sousa Biography
Pete Sousa is an American photojournalist/anchor/play-by-play broadcaster working with KWATX-TV as an Anchor since March 2017. Additionally, he also serves ESPN News as a play-by-play broadcaster a role he undertook in January 2020.
Pete Sousa Career
Sousa works with KWATX-TV where he serves the station as an Anchor. Previously she was working at KNOE where she was anchoring the noon news and brought viewers in-depth stories. Some of those took a look at gun violence at churches, hoarding, and teen drug abuse. He also contributed to Emmy’s nominated coverage of historic flooding in Northeast Louisiana in March of 2016.
She moved into a career in television news after a lengthy career in sports both behind the scenes and eventually in front of the camera. He also worked in public relations at USA Basketball and then in NBA for the Charlotte Hornets and Philadelphia 76ers. Later on, after seven years in PR, he moved into broadcasting starting with the NBA Development League.
Additionally, he also called games for the D-League and also hosted a weekly TV SHow from 2012-15. Additionally, he also covered the NBA Draft for radio affiliates around the country and also hosted the NBA D-League draft for NBA ENtertainment. Later on, he went back to Charlotte in order to work as a sideline reporter on Hornets radio broadcasters and as a pregame host on the team’s digital network.
While in Charlotte, Pete began contributing to Good Day Charlotte on the local FOX affiliate. It was at that point he fell in love with morning television and transitioned into TV News. Pete graduated from the University of Richmond, where he attended on a football scholarship. Out of college, he worked at SFX Sports in athlete representation. He was born and raised outside of Philadelphia.
While working in Charlotte, he began contributing to Good Day Charlotte on the local FOX affiliate. It was at this point that he fell in love with morning television and transitioned into TV News. He is a proud graduate of the University of Richmond where he attended a football scholarship. While out of college, he worked at SFX Sports in athlete representation.
