Peyton Furtado is an American journalist working for WYFF News 4 as a morning weekend anchor since January 2024. She joined the station in August 2022 as a reporter. Previously, she worked for WWAY 3 in Wilmington, North Carolina as a multimedia journalist and fill-in anchor for 2 years.

Furtado joined UNC Chapel Hill in 2016 when she finished her high school education at Coastal Christian High School. In 2020, she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Media and Journalism and Dramatic Arts. She won the school’s Mangum Medal for public speaking in 2020.
During college, she worked for Carolina Week as a reporter and multimedia journalist. Also, she worked for Southeastern Insurance as a front desk receptionist. She anchored and directed for Study Break, an on-campus talk program that spotlighted student occasions, charities, and clubs. She held an internship at WECT News.

She is vocal about supporting suicide prevention. Furtado made a guest appearance on the Dr. Phil Show after her brother passed away by suicide in 2022.
