Tiede is at Mississippi State University completing her second degree, working toward a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology to accompany her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Texas Christian University. She graduated magna cum laude from TCU with Honors, minoring in Kinesiology. Tiede will graduate from MSU in 2024. She majored in journalism and minored in kinesiology. Tiede is a journalist who had also worked for other stations prior to joining WNYT. Previously, she worked for FOX17 in Nashville, Tennessee where she served as a reporter and anchor. While in FOX17, she enclosed stories that hit the headlines including anchoring 4 hours wall-to-wall, unscripted, after the Christmas Day RV explosion. She also enclosed NASCAR’s return to Middle Tennessee for the first time in almost 40 years. She then reported from the field for multi-day, wall-to-wall coverage of the deadliest tornado Nashville’s seen in decades, earning an Emmy nomination for her work. Tiede previously served as a morning reporter for the station where she managed to cover several stories in her morning duty.
Tiede worked for NewsWatch 12 in Medford, Oregon where she served as an anchor/MMJ/producer prior to FOX17. While at the station, she served as the main anchor for the NewsWatch 12 4 p.m. broadcast as well as a fill-in anchor for all of the other broadcasts. She also anchored, produced, and reported on the news that was very major in Oregon. Some of the news she enclosed while in Oregon includes the Chetco Bar Fire, the Delta Fire, the Camp Fire in Paradise, California, and the Klamathon Fire.
Tiede also spent some time working for TCU360 News Now, The Leap, and TCU360.com where she served as an anchor/ reporter. She nonetheless interned at PolitiFact in Washington, D.C. during the fall of 2016 where she was reporting, and fact-checking on the Presidential election. WCCO-TV in Minneapolis, Minnesota, was where she also interned and managed to follow the steps of reporters, and worked at the assignment desk. Additionally, she interned for KSTP-TV in St. Paul, Minnesota, where managed the website and social media and wrote original content for KSTP.com.
