Richard Scott Biography
Richard Scott is an American Meteorologist working for WVUA-TV as a chief meteorologist. Before working as a chief meteorologist, he worked as a weekday news producer and weekend meteorologist at the same station.

Upon finishing high school, Richard went on to join Shelton State Community College in 2005 where he graduated in 2007 with a degree. He then furthered his studies at Mississippi State University where he obtained a degree in Geosciences and Broadcast Meteorology in 2010.

Scott works for WVUA 23 in Huntsville, Alabama where he serves as a chief meteorologist at 5, 6, and 10 pm. He joined the station in May 2006 working as a weather intern before later accepting a role as a weekend meteorologist in 2007. In 2010, Richard landed a role as a weekday news producer and weekend meteorologist at the same station.
One year later, Scott was promoted to the chief meteorologist a position he has been serving since then.
During his tenure at WVUA23, he has covered significant news including the historic tornado outbreak of April 28, 2014, flooding, and several ice storms. On April 27, 2011, he lost his home and town after the deadly tornado outbreak that destroyed everything. Richard also reported multiple winter storms and hurricanes and is experienced in weather events. Since the incident that happened to his town, Richard began respecting and understanding the importance of weather.
In addition to this, Richard has also been acknowledged by several Associations such as the National Weather Association. In March 2012, he was honored by the Alabama Associated Press with the Best Weather Anchor titled. Besides this, Scott was also listed among the six intriguing people of Tuscaloosa by Tuscaloosa Magazine. He has been with the station for over a decade since joining in May 2006.
