Rob Peppers is an American meteorologist and storm chaser working for WIBW-TV where he serves as a weekday and weekend meteorologist. He joined WIBW-TV in June 1987.
Peppers has always been interested in weather since his childhood days and he is fascinated with how the clouds develop and move, the crash of thunder, the flash of lightning, and watching big flakes of snow falling to the ground. In 1988, he graduated from the University of Kansas where he earned a degree in meteorology. Not long after he had graduated, he was able to secure a job at WIBW-TV where he serves as a meteorologist. In addition, over the years, he has earned the AMS Television Seal of Approval which was awarded to him in 1991.
Over the years, he has worked with some of the biggest meteorologists in the industry. As of the moment, he serves as the president of the Hatke Parkinson Support Group in addition to being on a board of directors for the NE Kansas Parkinson’s Association. Peppers has also spoken to many social groups and churches about the weather and his experience with Parkinson’s disease. During his free time, he enjoys chasing storms and occasionally throws a lure at a largemouth bass or two.
