Having a great interest in weather mostly severe weather that was enhanced by a close encounter with a tornado in Tulsa on June 8, 1974. Satkus began his meteorologist career in 1985, strictly as a hobby covering over 100 tornadoes, experiencing 100+mph winds and softball-sized hail.
Later in 1993, he was promoted to a StormTracker at NEWS 9 where he serves to date. Since 1993 he chased Val Castor till 2000 when he later 2001 began chasing Tom Pastrano to date. Satkus also tenured in 1995 at a meteorological consulting service with Val at Castor Weather Inc. Aside from work he also great interest in disc golf, photography, billiards, soccer, fantasy football, napping, and music.
