Rosie Nguyen Biography
Rosie Nguyen is an American anchor and reporter working at ABC13 where she serves as the Race & Culture Journalist. She joined the ABC13 news team in December 2021, after previously working at ABC 4 where she served as the 7 pm anchor.
She also previously worked in collaboration with the national team to produce episodes for their Hulu docuseries known as Our America. Before she came to Texas, she worked in Salt Lake City at KTVX, where she assisted launch the market’s first live nightly news discussion show.
She explored a number of topics of community interest while she served as the anchor and host of In Focus. In addition, a number of topics that she explored included; mental health, LGBTQ+ issues, restorative justice, racial equity, intergenerational poverty, and disability rights.
While she worked in Utah, she won many awards such as the Rocky Mountain Regional Emmy in 2021 for the Breaking News category as an anchor during the destructive George Floyd riots. Furthermore, she won a number of first-place awards with the Utah Society of Professional Journalists in the categories of General News reporting, Minority Issues, and Criminal Justice.
Furthermore, she attended the University of Utah where she graduated proudly, and later on, she joined KEZI in Eugene, Oregon where she served as a weekend morning anchor. During her leisure time, Nguyen likes road-tripping and exploring outdoors with her boyfriend, Jason, Labrador Retriever, Dug, hiking as well as camping.
