Ross Palombo Career
KRON and KENS
Palombo started his career as a reporter with KRON, San Francisco from 2000 to 2005. He was the lead reporter for the flagship 9 p.m. newscast and had assignments such as President Reagan’s Funeral, Michael Jackson’s molestation case, and the Scott Peterson trial. Palombo won two Emmy Awards in 2003 for Breaking news and general news.
He then joined KENS in San Antonio from 2007 to 2008 as an anchor and investigative reporter. There he anchored for 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. weekend news and gave investigative reports such as an expose on elevator licensing and safety that led to the largest elevator-related fine in Texas history. During his tenure there he earned two Emmy nominations in 2007 for investigative reporting and business/consumer reporting and an Emmy Award in 2008 for investigative reporting.
CBS News and WPLG
Palombo joined CBS News as an anchor and correspondent from 2008 to 2010. There he was the main anchor of the weekly CBS News program ”365”, and the main fill-in for the CBS Morning News and CBS News Up to the Minute. He was also a correspondent for Newspath and fill-in correspondent for CBS Evening News: Weekend Edition and a Fill-in anchor for WCBS.
Ross then joined WPLG, as an investigative reporter from April 2010 to August 2015. He was the lead investigative reporter for the flagship 11 p.m. newscast and did extensive live & breaking news reporting. In 2012 he received 2 Emmy Awards for spot news and on-camera general assignment. In 2014 he earned 5 Emmy Awards for investigative reports, politics & government, spot news, journalistic enterprise, and specialty assignment.

KTVU and WPLG
Ross moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to become an anchor, investigative reporter, and political analyst for KTVU from August 2015 to February 2017. There he was the evening anchor, lead investigative reporter for the flagship 10 p.m. newscast, and political reporter and analyst. In 2017, he received 3 Emmy Awards for investigative reports, program host/moderator, and on-camera news reporter. The same year he also won an Edward R. Murrow Award for investigative reporting and another Murrow Award in 2018 for investigative reporting.
He then joined WPLG, in Washington D.C. as a White House Correspondent/ DC Bureau Chief from March 2017 to March 2021. There he was responsible for coordinating all political coverage. He had intensive coverage of President Trump’s reelection campaign, the Capitol attack, both historic impeachments, COVID-19, the Russia investigation, and the Parkland school shootings. Palombo earned an Emmy Award in 2018 for the coverage of the Stoneman Douglas Massacre.
