Ryan Jenkins Biography
Ryan Jenkins is an American journalist working for WTMJ as a weekend evening anchor and enterprise reporter since August 2021. He joined the station in January 2020 as a morning report and fill-in anchor. Previously, he worked for WQAD in Moline, Illinois as a reporter and fill-in anchor.
Ryan Jenkins Education
Jenkins joined Augustana College in 2014 when he finished his high school education at South Elgin High School. In 2018, he graduated with a Bachelor Of Arts degree in Multimedia Journalism and Mass Communications with a minor in Political Science.
While in college, he worked as the editor-in-chief of the Augustana Observer Newspaper in 2016. Also, he worked as an intern for CBS News in New York City. While at CBS News, he worked with skilled journalists as they broadcasted national news occasions including the 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting and devastating hurricanes.

Jenkins has worked for WTMJ as a weekend evening anchor and enterprise reporter since August 2021. Upon joining the station, he first worked as a morning report and fill-in anchor. While in Milwaukee, he has worked on the forefront during the broadcast of the 2020 Democratic National Convention, during the Coronavirus pandemic, and was on the scene reporting during the civil unease after the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha.
Jenkins anchored part of WTMJ’s broadcast of the unforgettable championship run by the Milwaukee Bucks in 2021. Also, he helped to lead the broadcast during the initial Milwaukee’s Juneteenth Day Celebration and again in 2022. As an enterprise reporter, he produces weekly in-depth pieces that find and share solutions to problems affecting residents of southeast Wisconsin.
Previously, he worked for WQAD in Moline, Illinois as a reporter and fill-in anchor. Before that role, he served the station as a digital content creator and news video editor respectively. There, he broadcasted the unforgettable 2019 flood, the 2018 gubernatorial race in Illinois, and the race leading up to the 2020 presidential election.
Jenkins was in Washington D.C. to cover the inauguration of President Donald Trump and the concurrent Women’s March on Washington. His love for news comes from his desire to connect and better understand people in the community.
