Sarah Bloomquist Biography

Sarah Bloomquist is an American News Anchor/Reporter for 6abc since joining the station in August 2002. Since joining, Bloomquist has covered many major stories including following the Philadelphia Eagles and their faithful fans during the 2002-2003 run for the Super Bowl and reporting live from Maryland during the sniper scare.

Prior to joining Channel 6, Bloomquist was at WTVG, the ABC-owned station in Toledo, Ohio, where she was a weekend anchor and general assignment reporter. She was awarded First Place in the Spot News Category from the Associated Press of Ohio for her coverage from New York of the September 11th attacks in 2002. Additionally, she was nominated for two Emmy awards for her live coverage of Ground Zero. In 2001, the Associated Press named her Best Reporter in Ohio.

She attended Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism where she received a Master’s Degree. Before that, Bloomquist had attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where she graduated with a major in History and a minor in French. She lives in Center City.
