Shannon Miller Biography
Shannon Miller is an American journalist who serves as a news anchor and investigative reporter at NBC Connecticut (WVIT) in New Britain, Connecticut, United States. She co-anchors the weekday 4:00 p.m. newscasts.
With over 15 years of experience in broadcasting, she was the lead reporter on the New Canaan mother of five Jennifer Dulos missing person and murder investigation. She has done national breaking news live coverage, special projects reporting, and done creative writing.
Miller was selected as a Missouri Fellow for the Association of Healthcare in 2012. In 2011, she was awarded an Excellence in Media Award by the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Southwest Missouri. Shannon was awarded the Missouri Broadcasters Association’s Certificate of Merit in 2012 for “Best Newscast”. She was twice nominated in 2021 for the Boston/New England Emmy for her reporting on the case of Jennifer Dulos.

Miller attended the University of Oklahoma where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. While still in college, she served as a reporter at ESPNU, Norman from January 2008 until May 2008. There, she reported feature sports stories for national broadcast of Big Twelve This Week. She also served as a sideline reporter for Sports Center U and throughout the national broadcast of OU Men’s Basketball games.

Miller went ahead to secure an exclusive jailhouse interview with the suspect and appeared on both Dateline and Discovery ID Web of Lies to provide perspective and context to the case.
She later reported live on The Weather Channel’s AMHQ showing severe winter weather conditions. She left the station in 2017 to join NBC Connecticut, Hartford, CT as an anchor and investigative reporter.
During her tenure with NBC CT, Miller has Provided The Weather Channel live and taped reports showing severe New England weather conditions. She reported on the Covid-19 mask decontamination site which aired on MSNBC in 2020. She also regularly fills in as an anchor on weekday morning and evening newscasts.
