Shannon Royster is a weeknight Evening Anchor For WJCL 22 News since she joined the team. She anchors the 6 pm, 7 pm, and 11 pm newscasts each weeknight.

Royster had earned her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from The Ohio State University. She then went on to earn her Master’s degree in Arts in Journalism at Kent State University.

Royster as a co-anchored comprehensive who had reported on the coverage of Hurricane Matthew and its afternoon aftermath for WJCL 22 News. Furthermore, she had Other major stories she’s covered including the Holly Bobo murder case and also the Vanderbilt Rape Case in Nashville. And as well as the tragic drowning of six teens in a Louisiana river.

Royster won the regional Emmy and several regional Ap awards. She has earned several community service awards for her contributions to the communities in which she has lived. When she is not working to bring you the many great stories of our area she loves spending time with her 8-year-old son. She is discovering new restaurants and meeting new people. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta and the National Association of Black Journalists.
