Haygood works with WRBC FOX6 news where he serves the station as a Sports Reporter since 1994. Over time, he developed into one of the city’s favorite weekend sports anchors. The year 2019 saw him begin the transition into news and is busy now helping with Good Day Alabama in the morning and as the anchor for WBRC FOX6 News at Noon. She enjoys doing profile stories on amazing people for wbrc.com and during the Fall Sheldon has plenty of fun co-hosting SIDELINE, the high school football show on Friday nights.
Haygood was raised all over as the son of a military family. His desire has always been to cover sports as a career grew out of his love of sports in general. In his high school years, she was involved in team sports. He once tried his hand at the radio working as a disc jockey. He is a proud graduate of Southwest Texas State University where he received a degree in Journalism.
His first stint in television landed him a job in Midland, Texas where he was working at KMID-TV. Additionally, he also worked as a reporter and weekend anchor. Later on, from there, he moved to Lubbock to work as a Sports Director. He, later on, got an offer from WHOA(now WNCF-TV) in Montgomery, Alabama where he took him from his state. It was later on in 1994 that the WRBC came knocking and has been there ever since. She is a cancer survivor and is a proponent of Prostrate Cancer and getting an early diagnosis.
