Sofia de Saussure is an American journalist working for WCBD serving as a reporter/anchor. She joined the WCBD-TV team back in 2016.

DeSaussure is an anchor as well as a reporter who serves as the anchor of WCBD’s latest addition, News 2 at 4 p.m. While still at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, she worked for her school station where she served as a reporter and covered all the stories in her school. Her career began as a weekend reporter and was later on promoted to weekend anchor in Charleston. She is ever committed so as to giving reliable and beneficial coverage of stories that matter to everyone including infrastructure, high-profile court cases, and crime.
DeSaussure has also managed to enclose well-known natural disasters over the years including, Hurricane Irma, historic flooding across the coast, and Hurricane Matthew, just to mention a few. In 2018, she reported from Ciba, Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria which caused a lot of destruction. She was also able to fly on a C-17 for several relief missions stopping in Texas and New York while working with the United States Air Force and Joint Base Charleston. De Saussure attained her degree in Journalism from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
DeSaussure is a Miami, FL native and is a proud Cuban-American. Whenever she is not working, she enjoys soaking up all South Carolina has to offer at any of Charleston’s many amazing restaurants, historical landmarks, and beautiful beaches.
