Steve Rappaport Biography

Steve is an American anchor and reporter working at NBC29 where he serves as the weekday evening anchor at 5, 6, and 11 pm. She joined the station in December 2004. 

Over the years, his work has received recognition including from the Associated Press and Society of Professional Journalists. For 15 years, he has resided and worked in Central Virginia and after graduating from the University of Michigan, he began his broadcasting career at a national sports network based out of Arlington where he worked behind the scenes. Later on, he worked in Indiana, Michigan, and Alabama before he decided to relocate to Charlottesville in December 2004.

Over the years, he has covered hurricane and gubernatorial elections in many states. He has also covered a number of events that have had an impact on people’s lives over the course of his years in broadcasting. In addition, he has had face-to-face interviews with Muhammad Ali, Paul Newman, and Dr. Jack Kevorkian.
