Steven Romo is an American journalist working as a New York City-based correspondent for NBC News and MSNBC. He joined the station in October 2021 as a freelance anchor. Further, he serves HuffPost as a contributor. Previously, he served ABC News station KTRK Channel 13 in Houston as a reporter and anchor. He joined ABC13 Eyewitness News in 2016.
Romo is an award-winning journalist who’s anchored and reported for several stations across the Lone Star State. Prior to heading to Houston, he ventured north of the Red River as an anchor in Tulsa. Born and raised in Dallas, Romo got his start in journalism while at Texas A&M University, reporting for the daily student-run newspaper.
Romo soon discovered that broadcast news is his passion and says he’s blessed to do what he loves every day. Romo has covered a huge variety of stories: from hurricanes, terrorism suspects, and disasters to politics, education, border issues, and more. He says he’s grateful that he gets to dig into the issues — learn about them and help viewers make sense of it all.
