Stewart Moore Biography

Stewart Moore is an American journalist working for WESH as a co-anchor of WESH 2 News at 6, 7, and 11 p.m. He joined the station in August 2011 and has served the station for over a decade. Previously, he worked as a morning anchor at WIS in Columbia, South Carolina, and WTXL in Tallahassee, Florida.

Moore joined Florida State University when he finished his high school education. He later graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in creative writing and a minor in communications. During college, he worked as an intern at CNN in Atlanta.

During his time at WESH, Moore has won multiple awards including six Emmys and two Associated Press Awards for his breaking news broadcast of the Pulse Nightclub shooting best newscast, and special broadcast of the Pulse Nightclub anniversary.

Moore also worked with a team at WESH that won four Edward R Murrow awards. He has broadcasted big stories such as presidential elections, the George Zimmerman case, Donald Trump’s impeachment, hurricanes Ian and Nicole, and the expose and special broadcast of the Dr. Mary Mcleod Bethune statue inside the US Capitol.

Previously, he worked as a morning anchor at WIS in Columbia, South Carolina, and WTXL in Tallahassee, Florida. During his time in South Carolina, he did a profile of a South Carolina shrimper, which won him a consumer reporting award.

Moore broadcasted the 2008 Presidential race, securing interviews with President Barack Obama, Senator John McCain, and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. In Tallahassee, he started anchoring and reporting while he was still a college student.
