Storme Jones is an American Emmy Award-winning anchor/reporter working for News 9 where he serves as an anchor for the network’s This Morning show. He joined the network in May 2019.

Jones tenures at News 9 This Morning serving as an anchor at the network’s 4 am newscasts and throughout weekdays. Jones joined Griffin Communications in May 2019. Being a Yukon native, he attended Oklahoma’s University, Gaylord College. There he graduated with a minor in political science and international studies and a degree in Broadcast Journalism. For the network, he has covered various events countrywide including live coverage of the presidential inauguration from the state’s National Guard, the U.S./Mexico border immigration surges, the 2018 Hurricane Michael which was Oklahoma standard in action following, and 2021 Hurricane Ida.
He was later accorded the 2020 Heartland Emmy Award for his live coverage of in Oklahoma City downtown of civil unrest. Additionally, he also earned both national and state recognition for his coverage of environmental issues and people with intellectual disabilities. This was during his tenure at KGOU Radio with several awards from the Oklahoma/Arkansas Associated Press, the Oklahoma Society of Professional Journalists, and The Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters.
Aside from work, he loves attending OU football games with his three brothers and spending time in Northeast Oklahoma at his family farm. He is an Aussiedoodle dad to Henry. Jones has featured severe weather, the statehouse, and wheat harvests. He believes in the resilience and strength of Oklahomans and is proud to tell their stories daily.
