Tashara Parker is an American Emmy award-winning traffic anchor and reporter who is working at WFAA. She has been serving as a morning traffic anchor and reporter at WFAA since she joined the station in  2019.

She is historically recognized as the first black woman to anchor CBS affiliate KYTX’s primetime evening newscasts. Later on, Tyler who is a Texas anchor was commended for her coverage of the 2017 Van Zandt County and 2019 Alto tornadoes. In addition, she has also written two high-profile executions of which she wrote and executive produced the majority of the content.

Furthermore, her work has been identified as progression and innovation producing both civic and social impact. Over the years, she has worked at College Station’s NBC affiliate KAGS News where she served as an evening anchor and reporter, and at Houston’s KTRK where she worked behind the scenes.

In addition, she has also worked at KBTX, the CBS affiliate in Bryan, Texas, as well as Comcast Sportsnet Chicago, an ABC affiliate. Tashara delivered firsthand reporting of the Chicago district closings of 54 elementary schools while she was a master’s degree candidate in Chicago. In addition, she also co-authored and produced an in-depth exploration of the ‘Decline of Inner-City High School Athletic Championships’ in Chicago thereafter.

As of the moment, she has been titled a community-focused storyteller for her efforts in highlighting organizations and people who have been underrepresented and misrepresented in mainstream media.
