Tedd Florendo is an American Meteorologist/Reporter working with KLAS-TV/Channel 8 News where he serves the station as a Lead Meteorologist for 8NewsNow Evening Edition. He has been working with KLAS-TV since the year 2004.

Florendo works with KLAS-TV where he serves the station as the lead meteorologist for 8NewsNow Evening Edition. With just a trip to a Seattle TV newsroom, he was hooked. At the age of 14 years, Florendo remembers the sights and sounds of typing, printers, and phones.
He describes the feeling, saying, he thought about how exciting and glamorous it would be to work inside a fast-paced newsroom. Tedd is a proud graduate of Washington State University where he graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism in the year 1998.
He kick-started his career working as a reporter for a small station in Yakima, Washington. Later on, he was promoted to morning weather anchor where he covered some of the major storms in the Pacific Northwest. Afterward, he moved on to Green Bay, Wisconsin, and chased EF-2 Tornadoes for WFRV before standing in frigid weather to do live shots for the Weather Channel. The year 2004 saw 8NewsNow hire him for his expertise and experience in forecasting flash floods and severe storms.
It is this experience that helped save lives when he was forecasting dangerous summer monsoons. Later on, he obtained his certification from Mississippi State which helped him land a job as he weekend meteorologist for WACU in Philadelphia in the year 2013.
For him, that was among the hardest places in America to forecast. Additionally, it also happened to be the worst winter in East Coast History. There, he forecasted hurricanes and ice storms for Nor’easters. However, he is proud to say that forecasting there helped him become a better meteorologist.
He later made a return to Las Vegas to work as the lead meteorologist for 8NewsNow Evening Edition. He states that his promise is that the station’s weather team will bring the most detailed and accurate forecasts so that one can be prepared for any weather, shine, or rain.
Away from work, he is a huge lover of Italian food and his best movie so far is Remember the Titans. On the other hand, his best TV shows are anything on CBS and Game of Thrones. Away from work, he enjoys snowboarding and a fun fact about him is that when he was in high school he was voted the best basketball player by his tennis team.
