Thanh Truong Biography
Thanh Truong is an American Anchor/Reporter who is best known for his time working with 4WWL-TV where he was serving the station as an Evening Anchor for the 5, and 10 PM newscasts. He leaves the station and tweeted on his Twitter account that he and his wife will be launching a new true crime podcast based in NOLA. At the moment he works for WWL Radio/Audacy as a Digital Content Producer since June 2022.

Truong was previously working with WWL-TV where he was serving the station as an Evening Anchor. He left the station in February 2020 to begin a new chapter of his journalism career. Prior to signing off, he wanted to share some thank yous.
When he was a kid, he states that there were many times he felt out of place. He states that guesses it is part of the experience of being a first-generation immigrant. Truong was a member of WWL-TV’s award-winning team which chronicled the impact, chaos, and immediate recovery of Hurricane Katrina. He states that his journey in journalism has taken him to places ranging from Vietnam to Afghanistan.
When playing basketball, he states he would be the last one to be chosen or close to the last. He states that he could not tell whether it was because he didn’t have a jump shot or because he looked different. He further explains that that stuck with him when he was young even as he traveled the country and at times the world, reporting on countless stories.
Truong, however, states that when he first came to New Orleans, about 17 years ago, Channel 4 picked him to play and New Orleans saw him play. He explains that he wasn’t always the best shooter, and certainly missed a lot of shots, but he hustled.
Truong states that he played hard for his team. Thanh says a big thank you to Channel 4 News for taking a chance on home and a big thank you to all the great people that work with the WWL-TV station. He also states that he would love to say thank you to New Orleans and Southeast Louisiana.
As he finishes off, he states that he would love to thank his wife for enduring the holidays he missed and the time they spent apart because of his job. He also wants to give a big thanks to his family who has been through so much with him but accomplished much more.
He asks God to keep guiding them and with his help, he plans on staying in New Orleans. For him, this is the only place that has told him that he belonged on the team. In closing, he gave a big thanks to the people that continuously watched him and says he will miss it all and the people.
