Thomas Schmidt is an American meteorologist for WIBW-TV 13 in Topeka, Kansas where he serves as a weekday and weekend meteorologist. He joined the WIBW-TV weather team in March 2021.
In the summer of 2002, his family relocated from Wichita, Kansas to Edmond, Oklahoma, and later in the spring of 2003, they witnessed a nearby tornado ever since he has been interested in weather. Later in 2016, he joined the University of Oklahoma where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geographic Information Science with minors in Meteorology and Broadcast Journalism. During his free time, he enjoys hiking, fishing, and being outdoors. Thomas is also a huge fan of classic cars and his favorite is the 1965 Chevy Corvette.
