Timm Crone Biography
Timm Crone is a well-known American Meteorologist working for News on 6 as a storm tracker. He joined the station in March 2018. He was been working as a storm tracker since 1987 when he saw his first tornado while attending the Air Traffic Control Academy in Oklahoma.
Timm has been a volunteer for tracking and reporting the location of severe weather to local media and emergency management officials as a storm chaser/first responder. Moreover, he speaks with Piloy groups. In June 1987, he was issued the Certified Weather Observer for taking/filling local weather observations. For more than three decades, he has been chasing the storm. Over the years, he has chased storms in Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Colorado, Arkansas, and Missouri. Moreover, he has responded in Moore, OK, Greensburg, KS, and Joplin MO. In May 2013, he and his chase/response partner tracked the largest storm ever recorded in El Reno, Oklahoma. Besides his work as a meteorologist, he is working at the Air Traffic Control Tower at Tulsa International Airport where he has been a controller there since moving to Tulsa in 1990. He has been a coach of tennis and volleyball at Rejoice Christian School in Owasso and enjoys riding bicycles and golfing.
