Kornet attended Vanderbilt University in 1986 where she received a degree in International relations and French in 1989. During her time there, she worked with Japanese pop star, Anri as a singer and Tokyo Disneyland as a Cinderella. After that, she enrolled at Kentucky University in 1991 where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication.

In 2018, Tracy joined Asbury University’s Howard and Beverly Dayton School of Business where she earned a Master of Business administration and management general in 2022. She has been with the station for more than nine years and ten months since she joined in September 2014. Earlier, Tracy worked in Dallas, Fort Worth where she served as a public speaker and moderator at KTVT-TV. Later on, she secured a position as an evening news anchor from September 2006 to September 2014.

Before working at KTVT-TV, Tracy served as an editorial director, host, and morning news anchor at KNXV-TV in Phoenix, Arizona. She spent six years and four months working for the station from June 2000 to September 2006. Kornet began her professional career at WLEX-TV in Lexington, Kentucky where she served as an anchor and reporter. She also co-hosted a weekly magazine show called “Kentucky Lifestyles”. She served the station for six years from 1994 to 2000.

Over the year, Tracy has covered multiple news including the Presidential debate in 2020, and has interviewed various U.S. presidents. Moreover, she has also filled in for the legendary Barbara Walters in New York, where she co-hosted a show called “The View”.

In addition, she is also the author of a book called Anne Neilson’s Entertaining Angels.
