Tyler Layne is a well-known American Emmy Award-winning Journalist working for WTVR-TV as a Reporter and Multimedia Journalist. He joined WTVR-TV in November 2018. He is an Emmy and Murrow award-winning journalist with a focus on accountability, and in-depth, and investigative reporting. Tyler was the 2019 and 2021 Capital Emmy Award winner because of producing coverage of the removal of Richmond’s Robert E. Lee statue on Monument Avenue and former Governor Ralph Northam’s blackface scandal.

Prior to that, he worked for theiHeartMedia as an On-Air Radio Personality from November 2013 to May 2017. There, he was the nightly host for top 40 pop radio stations, monitored entertainment news, created on-air segments, performed live remotes, conducted celebrity interviews, hosted content, engaged with listeners, was a promotions assistant, digital content coordinator, and top blogger for the station. Outside of work, he loves singing, playing instruments, and making music. Thus he creates mashups, sing-offs, and covers for his YouTube page in his spare time.
