Wesley Ruff is an American journalist working for KTVX as the sports director and weekday sports anchor. He joined the station in October 1985 and has served the station for over 3 decades.
Wesley Ruff Education
Ruff has won scholarships from the Utah Golf Association and Southern Utah State College in Cedar City (now Southern Utah University). In 1982, he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Brigham Young University. He played basketball, golf, and ran track for the Red Devils while studying at Springville High School. Moreover, he was captain on the basketball and track teams.

Upon joining the station, he initially worked as the weekend sports reporter and weekday sports anchor. After graduating from college, he kickstarted his career at KFYR in Bismarck, North Dakota. He worked there from 1982 to 1985 as the weekend sports anchor, weekday sports reporter, and sports photographer.
During his career, Ruff has won many awards for his anchoring and reporting. 5 times, he has won the Utah Sportscaster of the Year Award(1998, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008). The Utah Section PGA granted him three Bill Howard Golf Citizen of the Year Awards (2000, 2006, 2017). Following his third win, the organization renamed the award as the Wesley Ruff Golf Citizen of the Year.
Ruff has won multiple awards from the Society of Professional Journalists. He served as an inductee of the Nebo School District Sports Hall of Fame in 2016. He frequently speaks and is the MC of multiple charities and golf events.
