Yousef Nasser Biography
Yousef Nasser is an American journalist working for WJRT as the weekend sports reporter and anchor at ABC12. Previously, he worked in Lincoln, Nebraska as a news and sports reporter at KLKN.
Yousef Nasser Education
Nasser joined the University of Mary Washington in 2016 when he finished his high school education. In 2018, he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Digital Studies. There, he served the school’s Athletic Department as a sports management intern. Also, he worked for Monumental Sports Network as an on-air announcer.
In 2019, Nasser joined Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism where he obtained his Master’s degree in Journalism. While pursuing his Master’s, he worked as a news and sports anchor, reporter, and sports announcer. Further, he was a producer of the half-hour shows airing on CAN-TV in Chicago; “Running with the Windy City Bulls” and “COVID-19: Stories from across America.”
Nasser along with three other students produced a documentary called “A World Without Sports” his Master’s project. The documentary covered how athletes, broadcasters, and coaches dealt with the loss of sports because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Previously, he worked in Lincoln, Nebraska as a news and sports reporter at KLKN. There, he broadcasted state elections, high school sports, the Nebraska Cornhuskers, harsh weather, and the viral Josh Fight.
Nasser enjoys bonding with people via sports and giving young athletes a platform to share their stories. He started broadcasting sports in 2017 when he teamed up with ABC 12 sports director, Brandon Green, to cover high school sports in the Washington, D.C. region for DMVSTREAM.COM.
