Zach Maskavich Biography

Zach Maskavich is an American journalist working for WESH as a sports reporter. He joined the station in April 2020 as a multi-media journalist. Previously, he worked as the weekend sports anchor and reporter at WNCT in Greenville, North Carolina.

Maskavich joined Towson University in 2009 when he finished his high school education. In 2012, he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Electronic Media, and Film. During college, he worked as a sports director at WMJF and was an intern at Towson Sports Network.

He has loved every moment of being in Orlando, broadcasting major sporting events in and around Central Florida. Maskavich previously worked as the weekend sports anchor and reporter at WNCT in Greenville, North Carolina. There, he covered everything including the NBA All-Star game, the Little League World Series, and everything in between.

Maskavich launched his broadcasting career at a local television in Charlottesville, WCAV. There, he worked as a weekend sports anchor and broadcast the 2015 UVA baseball national championship as well as several runs in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament from the Cavaliers.

After graduating college, Maskavich worked as a digital media assistant at the Tigers’ athletic department. In this role, he hosted and produced multiple several studio programs. He also worked as a play-by-play for Towson’s women’s lacrosse, women’s basketball team, and gymnastics. He also filled in for men’s basketball and lacrosse games when necessary.
