Nick Merianos is an American meteorologist and former firefighter working for CBS Sacramento serving the station as a Chief Meteorologist. He is well known for previously working for Bay News 9 where he shared his enthusiasm with Spectrum News in helping viewers plan for their day ahead.

Merianos works with CBS Sacramento where he serves the station as a Chief Meteorologist. There, he appears on the evening weather forecasts on CBS Sacramento and on the CW weeknights for the 4, 5, 6, 10, and 11 PM newscasts. He was certified by the American Meteorological Society. He joins the Sacramento News team from Tampa, Florida where he proudly delivered the weather to viewers for three years as a meteorologist.
While working in Tampa, Merianos was recognized for his severe weather coverage, earning four regional awards during that time. Previously, he has spent time forecasting the weather from Denver, Colorado, and across the Northeast where he was born and raised.
For Merianos, the weather has always been a passion for him ever since he was a little kid. this is as he was sparked by severe and powerful winter storms. He later earned his degree in Atmospheric Science from Northern Vermont University.
Merianos joins the station with a unique background that goes beyond the weather. He had spent about six years as a trained firefighter in the Northeast and holds both firefighting and wildland fire certifications. This also experienced places Merianos in a unique perspective for the people to speak intelligently on the science behind the wildfires. He also holds a pilot license for single-engine aircraft. Away from work, he enjoys flying around the area, soaking in all the views that the beautiful area has to offer. Asides from that, he loves biking, kayaking, and hiking.
