Davie Eid Biography
Davie Eid is an American journalist working for WGME as the sports director. He joined the station in January 1996 and has served the station for more than 25 years. Previously, he served at St. Joseph’s College as a professor.
Davie Eid Education
Eid joined Curry College in Milton in 1983 when he finished his high school education at St. John’s High School in Shrewsbury. In 1987, he graduated with a Bachelor Of Arts degree in Communications. Next, he joined Marquette University in Milwaukee where he received a Master’s Degree in Broadcast Communications.

Eid serves WGME as the sports director. In this role, he delivers sports news every night and broadcasts a Super Bowl or a State Championship. He joined the station after working for FOX 51 in Portland and WVII in Bangor.
Since he was young, he knew that he wanted to involve himself in sports once he was older. He played ice hockey and Baseball before joining college. Once he graduated college, he faced difficulties in acquiring work having sent more than 700 resumes and cover letters to stations nationwide. However, he was met with disappointment and even thought of switching careers. This changed when his friend from Milwaukee who was working at a small TV station in Rhinelander advised him to intern in the Midwest under him. After interning at night and working at the Holiday Inn during the day he was then hired as a news reporter. He was then elevated to the Sports Department.

Eid was married to his wife and best friend Lisa DeBois since 1996 and is blessed with two children together. The couple has a son named Drew who is around 21 and plays Ice Hockey for Worcester State University and a daughter named Danielle who attends Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA. DeBois was diagnosed with Stage-4 nonsmoker lung cancer in 2014 and lost the battle after seven years in 2021.
