Shay O’Connor is an American Anchor and Reporter working for WDSU-TV as an anchor and reporter. Previously, she served as a weekend morning anchor and reporter at WJTV 12 News in Jackson, Mississippi.

She also reported the Mississippi prison lockdowns and the 2019 two Pike County teens charged with murdering their mother. For her work at the station, she became recognized and had many exclusive opportunities to share the stories of the Jackson community.
O’Connor started her journalism career at a local news station working as a fill-in traffic reporter and producer. As a producer, she helped in creating videos, editing, shooting, and gathering information. Shay also worked together with other reporters and producers in selecting the best content for the show. Previously, O’Connor worked at WDSU-TV where she served as an intern. She also created stories and developed a passion for her work as a journalist.
