Adriana Diaz is an American Correspondent and anchor working for CBS News in Chicago. She joined the station in 2012 and serves as a national correspondent and anchor of the CBS Weekend News Saturday.
Adriana Diaz Education
Diaz attended Stuyvesant High School where she earned her High School Diploma. From there, she had to further her education. She joined Princeton University to pursue her career course where she majored in public and international affairs. After completing her studies there, she joined Columbia University where she earned a master’s degree in public affairs and public administration in a dual degree program. In 2003, she was Miss New York Teen USA and in 2006 she was Miss New York USA. She is also on the board of the Harmony Program. The program provides music education to New York City students in underserved communities.

Diaz is a national correspondent and anchor at CBS News. She serves as an anchor of the Saturday edition of the “CBS Weekend News.” It broadcasts from CBS News’ Chicago Bureau located in the CBS-owned-and-operated station WBBM-TV. During her tenure at CBS News, she has covered the pandemic’s disproportionate effect on minorities together with her colleagues. Not long ago she reported from inside COVID-19 wards where she interviewed patients and frontline workers in Wisconsin’s largest hospital.
Throughout her career, she has reported from Mexico on the caravans of migrants traveling by foot to the United States. She also on Chicago gun violence and the Flint water crisis. Diaz covered the school shooting in Parkland, Florida for a month. Previously, she worked as CBS News’ Asia correspondent based in Beijing. While there. she used her Mandarin skills to report from China on culture, science, Chinese politics, and .S.-Chinese relations. Her Asia assignments took her to Laos, Japan, South Korea, and the Korean Demilitarized Zone. In addition to that, she reported from inside North Korea twice, documenting the country’s political pageantry and isolation.
During her time working as a CBS Newspath correspondent, she covered Pope Francis’ visits to Mexico in 2016, Cuba in 2015, Israel and Palestine in 2014, and Brazil in 2013. In December 2014, she was part of the first team that left for Havana for the normalization of relations with the U.S. She covered the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia. Prior to joining the CBS News team, she reported for Channel One News. She also hosted Yahoo’s “Trending Now” web show. Before transitioning to a journalism career, she was a financial analyst at Goldman Sachs.
