Nancy Chen Biography
Nancy Chen Emmy Award-winning correspondent working for CBS News in News York. She joined the station in February 2020 as a television journalist and correspondent.

After graduating from high school and earning her High School Diploma, she had to further her education. She joined the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics where she studied Chinese at Peking University in Beijing. Chen also attended the University of Southern California to pursue her course. After completing her studies there, she graduated as with a degree in international relations as a Trustee Scholar.

During her tenure at CBS News, she has covered national stories including the 2022 Buffalo shooting, the Omicron wave in New York City, the 2022 Bronx apartment fire, the Waukesha Christmas parade attack, and the criminal trial of Kyle Rittenhouse.
Prior to joining the CBS News team, she worked for WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C where she joined in 2017 as a weekday evening anchor. During her working time there, she served as a weekday anchor and reporter. Before working there, she served at WHDH-TV in Boston. While there, she served as a weekend anchor and weekday reporter for five years down the line. Prior to that, she worked at KSBY-TV in San Luis Obispo/Santa Barbara, Calif. During her working time there, she served the station as a multimedia journalist.
Her career also took her to Los Angeles. While there, she worked for KABC-TV as a web producer for quite some time during her time in college. During the 2008 Summer Olympics, she was involved in production for NBC Sports in Beijing. Her journalism career job started with writing for the Tulsa World for three years as a print reporter. She hosted a reoccurring franchise titled “Hero 24/7” that highlighted volunteers in the Washington, D.C. community.
Throughout her career, she has covered a wide range of national and global level stories. These stories include the 2013 EF5 Moore, Oklahoma, tornado, the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, Brazil, the Boston Marathon bombings and aftermath, the Congressional ballpark shooting, and also the Kyle Rittenhouse trial among others.
