David Begnaud Biography
David Begnaud is an American correspondent working for CBS News in New York. He joined the station in 2015 and serves as a lead national correspondent.

Begnaud attended Catholic school where he earned his Diploma. While there, he worked as an altar boy and Eucharistic minister. From there, he had to further his education. He joined the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to pursue his career course. After completing his studies there, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in general studies in 2005.

He has also covered major news stories around the world including the devastating earthquake that hit Ecuador in April of 2016 leaving hundreds dead and thousands injured. In addition to that, he covered the terrorist attack at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California, and the world including the shooting at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida.
During the summer of 2017, he covered Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico, Hurricane Irma in Florida, and Hurricane Harvey in Houston. His coverage of important international and national stories is featured prominently on CBSN, CBS News’ 24/7 streaming news service. Before joining CBS News, he covered national breaking news from crime and weather for several news organizations. He was a contributing correspondent for “Entertainment Tonight,” the No. 1 syndicated entertainment newsmagazine in the world. Furthermore, he created and reported for “Newsbreaker” at ORA-TV, a social media platform for current events and breaking news.
