Alana Brophy Biography
Alana Brophy is an American Emmy Award-Winning meteorologist working at ABC4 Utah where she serves as the chief meteorologist. She joined the ABC4 Utah Pinpoint Weather team on December 7, 2014, as a reporter and weekend forecaster. Previously, she worked in Boise, Idaho as an anchor, reporter, and forecaster.

She attended Judge Memorial Catholic High School where she graduated proudly. Later on, she joined Mississippi State University where she studied atmospheric Sciences and meteorology. In addition, she studied at Gonzaga University and earned a Bachelor of Arts in broadcast and electronic media and journalism.

Brophy works at ABC4 Utah where she serves as a chief meteorologist. While attending Mississippi State University, she also reported on Utah’s important weather stories such as flash flooding at Zion National Park, Utah’s deadliest flooding disaster in Hildale, the Brianhead wildfire, low water levels at Lake Powell, and the Great Salt Lake, and abundance of winter storms. In addition, she also traveled through the state on outdoor tour series and reported on Utah’s outdoors.
Prior to joining the ABC4 Utah team, she worked in Boise, Idaho where she forecasted, anchored, and reported. After working at the KBOI Weather Team for two years, she earned a regional Emmy award in the field anchoring a morning newscast. She began her career in St. George, Utah, where she served as a weekend forecaster and while she was there, she fell in love with the southern portion of our state. She also covered Washington County’s extreme heat in addition to heading up a crime series called The Tri-State Crime Stoppers.
Furthermore, she assisted in apprehending many fugitives in the community and earned her a Community Partnership Award from the Washington City Police. Staten Island, New York is her native home but she relocated to Northern Utah. During her leisure time, she enjoys skiing, fly fishing, cheering on Chicago Blackhawks hockey, and Gonzaga basketball, spending ample time with her husband, and walking their two dogs, Teddy and Radar.
