After graduating from high school, Allison enrolled at Hampton University in 1984 where she represented the Mass Media Hall of Fame. She then joined South Carolina University in 1990 where she earned a Master’s in Media Studies and Mass Communication in 1991.

She has been with the station for more than three years since she joined in October 2020. Allison previously served as an afternoon radio co-host at WHUR 96.3 FM from December 2018 to July 2020. Prior to joining WHUR 96.3 FM, she spent twenty years working for WTTG-TV in Washington, DC where she worked as an anchor and reporter. Later on, she landed a role as a morning news anchor working there for twelve years from 2008 to 2020.

Before working for WTTG-TV, Seymour served as a weekend anchor and reporter at KDNL, an ABC30 affiliate in St. Louis, Missouri. While there, she served the station for one year from August 1998 to August 1999. Previously, she worked from 1996 to 1998 as an evening anchor at WXXA, the Fox 23 affiliate in Albany, New York.

Allison began her career at WBNG TV 12 working as an evening news anchor and reporter from December 1993 to August 1994. She also covered exclusive weather reports including the 1993 blizzard in Upstate New York. Besides working at WBNG TV 12, Seymour was a producer, anchor, and assignment editor at WFXV/WUTR/WPNY in Utica, New York. In addition, she is an active member of Jack and Jill of America and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
