Amy Rose Biography

Amy Rose is an American Meteorologist working at KHQ where she serves as a fill-in meteorologist. She joined the KHQ team in October 2021, after previously working at WIBW-TV.

Her interest in weather began at a very young age and it began with her fear of storms, later on, it developed into a passion for weather and forecasting. Midwest is her native home and she was brought up in southern Minnesota where she attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison and graduated in May 2008, with a  degree in Atmospheric and Oceanic Science. In addition, she is an avid Badger fan who can be found in red and white on game days.

Furthermore, she started her career in meteorology at WIBW-TV in Topeka, Kansas in 2008, as a weekend meteorologist. She worked at WIBW-TV for three years and while she was at the station, she saw it all from many severe weather events and tornado outbreaks to the 2009 Christmas Eve Blizzard. In addition, Rose covered a number of weather phenomena including an episode of Storm Chasers for her coverage of the May 21, 2011 tornado in Topeka, Kansas on Discovery Channel.

Aside from work, she manages Lululemon Athletica in downtown Spokane as she is passionate about running. Rose is also a member of the Spokane Swifts running team where she is present on many of the local races. In addition, she is also a member of the Junior League of Spokane and delivers meals for Meals on Wheels. During her leisure time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, working out, reading, watching sports, and doing yoga.
