Dave Law Biography

Dave Law is an American meteorologist working at KHQ where he serves as a weekday and weekend meteorologist. He joined KHQ Weather Team in 2005. 

Dave Law Career

Law works with KHQ News serving the station as a Weekday and weekend meteorologist. He has served as a meteorologist for more than 25 years and he attended Mississippi State University where he graduated with degrees in Operational Meteorology and Weather Technology. Law also graduated from the Air Force’s Advanced Meteorology curriculum.

Over the years, he has traveled all over the world and experienced an unbelievable breadth of phenomena and responsibilities. In addition, he has covered weather in California, Korea, Micronesia, the Persian Gulf, North Carolina, and many other locations.

Furthermore, he covered events ranging from NASA shuttle landings, rescue operations, Air Force One flight, satellite space launches, and hurricane evacuations. He also worked at AFB where he served as a chief meteorologist and while he was there, he retired from military service in 2005. Later on, he relocated to Washington and since 2001, he has been working for a few days per month at the Spokane Airport Weather Office/Air Traffic Control Tower.

In addition, Law is an avid fisherman/ fly fisher and on any given day, he can be found on lakes or rivers exploring a fresh gem. He is also a decorated veteran and for his research and use of Doppler Acoustic Radar technology to improve aviation forecasts, he was awarded a Merewether Award.
