Anissa is a native East Texan whose award-winning career has taken her all over the Southeast. She was most recently the news anchor for WSB-TV, Atlanta’s number-one station. She previously worked at WALA-TV in Mobile, Alabama, on the Gulf Coast, as the lead nightly news anchor.
From 1996 through 2007, she covered practically every hurricane and tropical storm that affected the region, including Hurricane Katrina. Her efforts during Hurricane Katrina led the Alabama Associated Press to crown her as the state’s Best News Anchor. She received the prize three years in a row at one point in her career.
Anissa has reported live for CNN and interviewed former President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush over her career. All of it was thrilling, but nothing compares to the joy of returning home. When Anissa opted to paint her family’s entire rec room to appear like the Texas flag, she should have realized she missed home and would most likely return!
