Ben Bailey Biography

Ben Bailey is an American meteorologist who is best known for his time at Local 4 where he served as a chief meteorologist and forecasted weather at 4, 5, 5:30, 6, and 11 p.m. He left the Local 4 team in August 2021 after working at the station for 7 years. 

Prior to joining Local 4, he worked at Fox 2 where he served as the morning meteorologist for about nine years. He has served as a broadcast meteorologist for over two decades and during this time, he has worked in commercial and public radio, as well as television news and weather.

In addition, Bailey received endorsements from the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. As a result, it is the only major television station in the market with offices and studios in Detroit, despite the fact that the majority of the market’s television stations are based in Southfield. Ben graduated from the University of Missouri with two degrees in atmospheric science and journalism
