Ben Bradley Biography
Ben Bradley is an American Emmy Award-winning investigative reporter working at WGN since joining the team in January 2017. Bradley co-anchors the WGN Evening News from 4-5 pm with Lourdes Duarte.
Bradley attended Homewood-Flossmoor High School. He then went to the University of Missouri-Columbia where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Journalism.
Ben Bradley Career
Before WGN-TV, he spent 14 years at WLS-TV, ABC7 in Chicago as a reporter and weekend morning anchor. When he was reporting for WLS, Bradley traveled the globe on various stories including trips to Brazil, the Caribbean, China, and nearly a dozen states. Bradley’s career began in 1994 at KOMU-TV in Columbia, MO as a weather anchor and reporter.
Bradley then traveled to WCBD-TV in Charleston, SC as a weekday morning weather anchor and a news reporter. Bradley was a weekend anchor and reporter at Tribune-owned CLTV from 1998-2002. In recent years, Bradley’s work has been recognized with two Illinois Broadcasters Association Silver Dome Awards for investigative reporting, five Emmy Awards for breaking news coverage, and a documentary on the legacy of former Mayor Richard M. Daley.
He is a member of the Investigative Reporters & Editors Association and was previously president of the Chicago Headline Club, which, at the time, was the nation’s biggest chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
