His hometown is Cleveland, Ohio, and he has always been interested in weather since he was a child, and at the age of six, he knew he wanted to be a meteorologist. He went to Copley High School in Copley, Ohio, and while there, he was part of a program that included a TV meteorologist and a National Weather Service meteorologist.
Later, he enrolled at The Ohio State University to pursue a degree in meteorology. He was able to get a job as a morning meteorologist at the NBC station in Dayton, Ohio. Later, a FOX affiliate station in Traverse City, Michigan, asked him to build a complete meteorological department from the bottom up, and he did so as the station’s first Chief Meteorologist.
He was then hired as the weekend meteorologist at WWL-TV, a CBS affiliate on the Gulf Coast, where he worked for more than three years. In addition, he enjoys playing basketball, soccer, hiking, golfing, and riding in his spare time.
